“I take no credit or compliment for the work of my hands, as all glory and praise belong to God. For God created the tree, God created me, and God arranged the meeting.”

In the world of furniture making, I am considered a “studio furniture maker”. The term “studio furniture maker” was coined after World War II and describes a small shop (one shop, one man, one piece at a time) performing every step of the furniture making process by one person - from milling the logs/lumber, to applying the finish, and everything in between. Each piece of furniture is unique and one of a kind, from the hand drawn detailed drawings to the hand rubbed finishes. Every piece that leaves my shop takes a little part of me with it.

One of the greatest rewards of my work is witnessing the joy on the face of a client when they see and touch their piece of furniture for the first time. That relationship and interaction with folks is the true magic of the craft. And that is why we love to have folks called or text, schedule an appointment, and then come visit us at the shop. The smell of the wood, while drinking a glass of tea on the shop’s porch, is a true pleasure and leads to lifelong friendships.

Whether you are looking to have a special piece of heirloom handmade furniture built or if you are just interested in the art and science of furniture making and understanding the process, we invite you to contact us and then come by for a visit.
